Dead Man‘s Uke Workshop

Working with the finest purveyors of dum-ching themselves, participants in this workshop will get a chance to lift the lid on the great Dead Mans Uke performance style and learn what makes things work so well. You’ll learn things you can apply to your own playing and you’re sure to come away with a party trick or a good story or two.

Ukulele Simon Workshop

Saturday 4 PM – Upstairs at The Deer’s Head


Simon: Hand me your drum I’ll show you how to play it.
You: This? It’s a Ukulele
Simon: Its both, give it to me.
Simon: Boom-chic-a-waa-waa (In the key of G)

Start opening the percussive potential of your Ukulele, add drum beats using the body of the Uke while playing a melody at the same time. Bring some funk to that hunk of wood.

Build your own Diddley Bow with Rob Collins


Open to all levels – no playing experience necessary!

The diddley bow is a one-stringed instrument played by the likes of
Seasick Steve and BB King. In this workshop, renowned luthier, Rob Collins from TINGUITAR.COM will teach you a bit about the history of the instrument while also giving you all of the materials & guidance to build your very own diddley bow.
