OPEN MIC

Friday August 19th 8.30PM

Have you got the bottle?

Throw your hat in the ring… have a stab at it… give it your best… try your hand at it…

Contact us to put your name down for the open mic slot on our opening night on the main stage! It can be any song, but just let us know what it is in case someone else is doing it!

FUNNY SONG!

Friday 19th August – 8.30PM (during the open mic)

Ever fancied having a go at song-writing? Here’s your chance…Plus you’ll get to perform your song on the open mic stage on Friday night!
The song must be your own composition – but like Ed Sheeran you can copy the odd chord and riff here and there.

The song theme is ‘Northern Ireland‘ from any angle whether it’s about buck eejits, giants, Game of Thrones, ‘not getting on’ in the 70’s/80’s, Eamonn Holmes, scundered, melters, Colin Murray, big yella cranes whatever – the funnier the better – the song is yours (so it is)

To enter just send us a recording of your song – a simple phone recording will do the job – attach it to an email and send to hello@belfastukefest.com

You must be a ticket holder / wristband wearer as you will be in the exclusive members area – go on show it… wave it like you just don’t care!

To give you a wee idea of what we’re looking for, have a wee listen to our wee Sean’s wee song about the word wee. You’ll need to turn your wee sound on on your wee pc or wee phone to hear the wee song. So you will.

GROUP PERFORMANCES

Sunday 21st August – FROM 1PM

All groups attending are very welcome to perform!
If you’re part of a large uke collective or a small group, get your 15 minutes of fame on the main stage!
We will need to co-ordinate this so please send us an email to hello@belfastukefest.com with your group name and what songs you’d like to perform.
Performances are limited to 30 mins, but if you’d like to perform for 5 mins that’s great too!
